Himalayan pink salt takes that story to a new positioning: a natural mineral source, a soft pink color and bright packaging. Technically, salt is not simply added to a toothpaste base: it thins the thickening system, can cause water separation, corrodes aluminum tubes, and undissolved salt crystals become an abrasive that is hard to control. A good formula keeps a pleasant, mild salty taste and a stable paste, and combines fluoride or an active for sensitive teeth depending on positioning. Formula base
A salt-tolerant paste base with a mild salty taste
Salt toothpaste needs a thickening system that tolerates salt, and just enough salt for taste without thinning the paste or causing water separation.
Pink salt
Refined Himalayan pink salt with a heavy-metal certificate of analysis; fully dissolved in the water phase.
Salt-tolerant thickening system
Thickening silica, xanthan, cellulose gum — keep the paste thick without water separation in the presence of salt.
Fluoride or sensitive teeth
Sodium fluoride within permitted limits; potassium nitrate for sensitive-teeth lines.

A stable paste with salt
Salt lowers viscosity and promotes water separation; the thickening system and salt level are selected through heat–cold testing.
Salt fully dissolved
Undissolved salt crystals act as an uncontrolled abrasive; the salt is dissolved in the water phase before blending.

- Sodium chloride assayed in the finished product.

- Monitored through freeze–thaw cycling and high-temperature storage.

- Tested at a GLP / ISO 17025-accredited laboratory; heavy metals are also tested in the salt raw material.
