Breath freshener spray OEM/ODM manufacturing
Breath Freshener Spray · Mouth Spray · OEM/ODM
A breath freshener spray is a quick-use product for the middle of the day: after a meal, before a meeting, when brushing is not convenient. Users judge it within seconds — is the taste pleasant, is it cool enough, is there a bitter aftertaste, and does the sprayer dispense evenly. Because the volume is small and it is used directly in the mouth, the formula must carry more flavor than a mouthwash without causing a burning sensation, while the solution stays clear and does not clog the nozzle. The packaging is part of the product: swivel or straight nozzle, dose per spray, a pocket-size bottle. Butter-C provides full-service OEM/ODM manufacturing, from formula to labeled finished goods with the cosmetic product notification.
Formula base
A concentrated flavor solution in a water base, with or without alcohol
A breath spray delivers a very small amount each time, so flavor and cooling agents are more concentrated than in a mouthwash, while the base must be clear enough to leave no residue in the nozzle.
Solvents
Purified water; food-grade alcohol for strong cooling lines; glycerin and propylene glycol for alcohol-free lines.
Solubilizers
Poloxamer, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil — keep the flavor clear and dissolved, with no haze.
Flavor and cooling
Mint, green tea mint, peach, strawberry flavors; low-dose menthol.
Actives and taste
Zinc salts and CPC help keep breath fresh; xylitol and sucralose for sugar-free sweetness.
Key technical points
Four factors that determine the quality of a breath freshener spray
Taste within seconds
Flavor, cooling and sweetness are finalized on spray-tested samples; avoiding the bitter aftertaste of zinc and CPC.
No nozzle clogging
A clear solution with no ingredients that crystallize at the nozzle tip over time.
Dose per spray
A spray pump with a suitable output is selected; the label states the number of sprays per use.
Preservation in a small bottle
Alcohol-free lines need a challenge-tested preservative system; the bottle is opened and closed many times a day.
Three formulation directions
Three common types of breath freshener spray
Strong mint
Moderate alcohol, menthol and intense mint flavor; a distinct cooling sensation.
Mild alcohol-free
Polyol base, fruit or green tea mint flavor, xylitol.
Herbal
Green tea, betel leaf, low-dose clove; natural color.
Packaging is planned with the formula
15–30 ml glass or plastic bottles, mechanical spray pumps with swivel or straight nozzles. Aerosol formats are discussed separately.
Parameters we monitor
What our R&D lab measures on every sample
