Men's moisturizer OEM/ODM manufacturing
Men's Moisturizer · Men's Face Gel · All-in-One · OEM/ODM
Many men use only one skincare product after washing their face, so a men's moisturizer has to do several jobs in one step: hydrate, soothe skin after shaving and limit shine. Skin feel decides whether they keep using it — absorbing within seconds, not greasy, not shiny, with a subtle masculine scent. Technically, this points toward a low-oil gel-cream base, light emollients, oil-absorbing powders for a matte finish, and actives with a clear story such as niacinamide, zinc and centella. Butter-C provides full-service OEM/ODM manufacturing, from formula to labeled finished goods with the cosmetic product notification.
Formula base
Low-oil gel-cream, fast-absorbing, matte finish
Men's moisturizers are usually gel-creams (a gel base with a small amount of light oil) rather than rich creams, so they absorb quickly without shine.
Gelling agents
Liquid gelling polymers, carbomer — a cool base that absorbs quickly.
Light emollients
Squalane, dimethicone, light esters — smooth on skin, not greasy.
Humectants
Glycerin, hyaluronate, panthenol.
Mattifying powders
Silica, oil-absorbing polymer powders — a dry finish after application.
Key technical points
Four factors that determine the quality of a men's moisturizer
Absorbs within seconds
Low oil content, volatile or very light emollients; evaluated in application tests on samples.
No oily shine
Silica powder, niacinamide and zinc help control oil through the day.
Gentle on post-shave skin
No drying alcohol; added panthenol, centella, allantoin.
Subtle masculine scent
Woody or herbal notes at low dosage; or fragrance-free for sensitive skin.
Three formulation directions
Three common types of men's moisturizer
Oil-control gel
Niacinamide, zinc PCA, silica; for oily skin and hot climates.
All-in-one cream
Moisturizes, soothes after shaving, matte finish; one step every morning.
Moisturizer with SPF
Combined with UV filters; SPF and PA values must be tested before they appear on the label.
Packaging is planned with the formula
Tubes, pump bottles, aluminum jars; minimalist, dark-toned design.
Parameters we monitor
What our R&D lab measures on every sample
Below are the parameters Butter-C monitors during formula development and scale-up to production. Specific limits are agreed with you on the approved sample and then written into the product's in-house specification.
- pH
- Measured after manufacture and after aging.
- Viscosity
- Across temperatures, so the product dispenses evenly from the tube or pump.
- Stability
- Freeze–thaw cycling and centrifugation; no separation, no powder clumping.
- Sensory profile
- Absorption time and surface shine compared with the reference sample.
- Microbiology
- Tested at a GLP / ISO 17025-accredited laboratory.
- SPF, PA
- For lines with sun protection, tested by standard methods before labeling.
- Packaging compatibility
- Tubes and pumps are checked after aging.
