Many expectant mothers prefer an oil to a cream for their evening belly massage: oil glides easily, keeps skin moisturized for longer and turns skin care into a moment of relaxation. Belly oil is an anhydrous product with a short formula — just plant oils and antioxidants — and that is exactly why the quality of each oil, its resistance to rancidity and its scent define the experience. Ingredients must be chosen with care for pregnancy, essential oils kept to a minimum, and claims limited to moisturizing and supporting skin elasticity. Butter-C offers full-service OEM/ODM manufacturing, from formula to labeled finished product with its notification dossier.

Formula base

An anhydrous plant-oil blend rich in antioxidants

Belly oil contains no water, so it does not need a preservative system like a cream does, but it does need protection against rancidity for oils high in unsaturated fatty acids.

Main oils

Rosehip, jojoba, sweet almond, sunflower — each with its own glide and absorption.

Light oils

Medium-chain triglycerides, squalane — less greasy feel, faster absorption.

Oil-soluble extracts

Centella asiatica, calendula in oil-soluble form — a soothing, elasticity story.

Antioxidants

Tocopherol, deodorized rosemary extract — keep the oil from going rancid.

Key technical points

Four factors that define belly oil quality

Moderate glide for massage

Heavy and light oils are blended so hands glide long enough, then the oil absorbs without staining clothes.

Rancidity control

Rosehip oil oxidizes very easily — we use fresh oil, add vitamin E and choose light-blocking bottles; peroxide value is monitored.

Very light scent

Expectant mothers are sensitive to smell; fragrance-free or very lightly scented, with essential oils kept to a minimum.

Nut oils and allergies

Almond oil is a nut oil; it is stated clearly on the label so people with nut allergies can decide.

Three formulation directions

Three common belly oil lines

Classic almond–jojoba oil

Moderate glide, good value, the most popular line.

Premium rosehip oil

Rosehip, jojoba, squalane; natural golden-orange color.

Fast-absorbing dry oil

High in light oils, feels dry within a few minutes; suited to hot climates.

Packaging is planned with the formula

Amber glass or dark plastic bottles, with a pump or dropper cap.

Parameters we monitor

What our R&D lab measures on every sample

These are the parameters Butter-C monitors while developing the formula and scaling it up to production. Specific limits are agreed with you on the approved sample and then written into the product's in-house specification.

Peroxide value
Rancidity is tracked at production and after aging.
Acid value
Tracks the stability of the oil.
Clarity, color, odor
No clouding in the cold; color and odor stable under light.
Viscosity
Measured at room temperature against the reference sample.
Microbiology
Tested at a GLP / ISO 17025-accredited laboratory.
Packaging compatibility
Pumps, gaskets and leakage are checked against the oil.
